Carlton – Online Fitness Coach
Posted by Okami Sport onCarlton is an Online Fitness Coach and Trainer, supporting people on their fitness journey.
He got into fitness due to the fact he didn’t like the way he looked and felt and wanted a change. As he used to play for Burnley FC, he started seeing differences in his training, “I noticed when I started training, I was less aggressive, as I used to have random bursts of energy and power when playing”. When Carlton started training, it made him feel more ‘alive’ and gave him the motivation to work out and better himself.
Carlton got into Personal Training after he stopped playing football in Sweden. “I loved helping close friends lose weight and feel better about themselves”. He started showcasing his results and fitness ideas on Instagram (@carltonmcintosh) back in 2013, and his page started getting a lot of interaction, “I knew I wanted to help more people see their life in a new perspective through health and fitness”. His motto is ‘to inspire myself and help others who would like to do the same’.
In lockdown, Carlton has stayed motivated by knowing how good it makes him feel. If he doesn’t train or do something active, he can see how not training affects his mood negatively and having less motivated regarding work.
Some advice Carlton has for people struggling to get into the routine of working out is to start with creating small habits that you know that you know you can 100% stick to. Don’t overwhelm yourself and set realistic goals and gradually progress becomes a habit. Keep it consistent. For example, “instead of saying in going to train every day, say I’m going to train 2-4 per week for 30-60 minuets at a time. Or instead of saying I’m going to do 100 push ups a day, start with 5 and gradually work your way up”. Staying on track is hard for many right now because they have set unrealistic tasks.
Make your goals more realistic and you will achieve them.
